About Us
Big Country BBQ is a competition barbecue team that has won numerous awards since our first competition in 2001 — and we won them with our Simply Unique BBQ rub seasoning.
Many rubs exist today that are sweet, or salty, or spicy. But Big Country BBQ has developed a bold seasoning rub that lets you enjoy all three distinct flavors in one rub.
Big Country BBQ is a father (David Pauling) and son (Brad Pauling) competition BBQ team. We formed in 2001 after visiting a local cook off and realizing that our BBQ was just as good if not better then the samples we tasted. So in February 2001 we entered our first competition and haven’t looked back since.

We’ve been very successful on the competition trail, accumulating 3 Grand Championships, several Grand Reserve Championships, and numerous individual category awards. In 2011 we qualified to cook at the American Royal invitational cookoff in Kansas City, and were put into the draw for the Jack Daniels World BBQ championship.
Over the years we have perfected our own line of rubs that are being used on the BBQ trail with great success by other teams as well.
